Well, today is the first day back in the real world. At least, it is for A since he had to go back to work today. Lucky me, I don't yet, because of Columbus Day! Woohoo!
Since I've been gone so long, maybe you'd like an update on recent events:
The wedding was a blast! A and I had such a great time! We even escaped having something go wrong (because you know something usually always does). Well, A had a slight pronunciation problem with fidelity, but you know, that is just way ok. It lightened us up a bit (because up to that point, I was so nervous I had almost passed out a couple times! A kept asking if I was ok, so I guess I didn't look it, and wasn't very convincing when I said I was...). Otherwise everything went swimmingly smoothly! It all turned out exactly the way we wanted it to, and our reception was awesome! I don't think I have ever danced that much....well, ever. And I'm pretty sure A hadn't either. We both could barely walk when we headed for home!
The honeymoon (at Disney World!) was perfect for us. We had so much fun everywhere we went, and Disney takes such good care of its guests that we never got lost once or had any problems whatsoever! (Hard to believe, I know, but really the worst problem we had was coaxing our feet to keep moving because there was so much we wanted to see!) We rode Splash Mountain about 6 times, went to the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom three times apiece, and of course made a trip to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. We had a special dinner in Epcot at a fancy Italian restaurant with cloth napkins and all! It tasted wonderful. I had cannelloni and A had lasagna. We also had yummy bread and hor'doerves (sp?), and DELICIOUS dessert! And one of the best parts was that our entire meal was included in our meal plan and was already paid for...this was a very good thing since the bill ended up totaling around $82! We also met Pluto, a Power Ranger (the yellow one), and Lightning McQueen and Mater from Cars. I tried to meet Ariel (my absolute favorite character) a couple of times, but somehow the timing could never be worked out. I will try and post some pictures later (they are all still in my camera and I think all my hook up stuff is still at my parents house), but suffice it to say that the honeymoon could not have been better! (Even though it was about 95 degrees the entire time we were there, and we have never been so glad to get back to cool weather in October!) :)
The last couple of days A and I have spent pretty much trying to put our house in order, and put away shower and wedding gifts. Last night we headed out grocery shopping for the first time, and that was an adventure for sure! We didn't have any food to speak of besides cereal and the makings for PBJ's, so we needed EVERYTHING, but we had to be careful not to get too much because our kitchen is very low on storage. We managed pretty well, I think. At least we can make it through until we have time to go shopping again!
Today while A is at work, I built a 3 shelf cabinet (by myself!) we bought for storage in the bathroom, and I was planning to hook up the microwave my parents got us. But I don't think I can lift it by myself, and I really don't want to break it, so I will just have to wait on that. I have all the laundry caught up and the rest of the day will be spent washing new kitchen items and puttting stuff away! And maybe I will get a couple more boxes unpacked soon....we'll see!

Busy, busy!
Well, I promised we would have more later, so heere weee goooo! (Insert voice of game show host of your choice!)
Yesterday was a crazy afternoon, but I got quite a bit accomplished! I had my first dress fitting, and it was awesome! (I just love my dress. *dreamy sigh*) I also bought some earring that might work for wedding day, and I bought supplies for my favors, and scoped out some other stuff for future projects. This took visiting 4 different stores, all within a couple of hours. (Let me tell you, I was moving!)
I went to a flooring store that has been highly praised locally as well, to check out their supplies a little and to see what time they are open on Saturdays so that A and I can go back and scope things out together. I think we will probably end up going with them, because I’ve heard great things about their service and prices, and the dude in the shop let me take home a whole sample book when all he has is my name and phone number! I didn’t have to sign any sort of paper to check it out or anything…it seems like just the sort of business we like to deal with. Small townish and trusting. Which a lot of times means they are trustworthy as well. Which is a good thing, of course! I can’t wait to get my house so I can get down to business on picking out flooring that matches walls and cabinets and all that stuff! We should get it soon, but the waiting is driving me bonkers!
Then I went home and didn’t get quite as much accomplished, but I was whooped. Physically and mentally and I just didn’t have that much left in me. But A and I did get some stuff figured out for where we want to go in Disney while we are there. I am getting so excited! Everything is suddenly seeming very very REAL.
Hopefully, this progress will continue! I’m a little too realistic to believe that A and I (who take a very long time to make simple decisions sometimes…we are fairly indecisive people. And those who really know us would say that is putting it mildly.) can continue in this vein for too extended a period, but a girl can dream, right?
Oh, who am I kidding? I DO know however, that everything will get done by the end! We just might take a while to get there! ☻

Just some stuff...
Last night the addressing of the invitations hoopla began. Kind of. See, we were getting everything laid out so we wouldn’t forget and envelope or something like that, when I realized we don’t have the stamps to put on the RSVPs just quite yet. So I was addressing envelopes and stuffing invitations halfway…I had to leave the inners outside the outers so the RSVP can be added after we get stamps for them…so after all of that I addressed about 10 invitations and called it a good start! Only about 115 more to go…whew. I’m going to have to start exercising my fingers to get them in shape for that! (I also discovered that I have no concept of where to start writing names to get them centered on the envelope. I improved the longer I wrote, but good grief. I was seriously center-impaired at the start!)
A and I are also getting ready to pay off the honeymoon trip to Disney (Woohoo! I’m so excited!) to try and avoid having all the wedding bills come due at one time. It will be a kind of painful experience (figuratively), but I think it will definitely be worth it! I’ve already started trying to figure out which parts I want to go to and what attractions I want to see, and which characters I want to see the most (that would pretty much be all of them!). This is kind of a big deal for me since I love all things Disney (yes, I still do) so I want to make the most of it!
Hopefully this week will continue to hold progress. Tomorrow is my first dress fitting (crossing my fingers here!), plus I need to do some shopping for a few more wedding supplies, plus A’s ring is supposed to come in soon (I would love to get that in this week, too!). I’m just hoping my energy holds out long enough to get everything done!

Friday Favorite Fives-Disney edition
So, you all remember that I’m going on my honeymoon in October to Disney World? I’m assuming that gave you just a slight hint that I kind of, well, LOVE Disney stuff. I love the movies (Still! And I’m 24 years old! But I’m of the opinion that you can never grow out of stories like that. Or you shouldn’t.) So this week, we will take a stroll through my top 5 favorite Disney movies!
The Little Mermaid: Usually, I do not put numbers or orders on my FFF’s, but this is my #1 absolute favorite. When I was little, I’d watch it over and over and over again. Our VHS version of it has the little squiggly lines that come from too much watching. I love the characters, the music, the story, everything. Not to mention the fact that it has the trademark Disney happy ending. And we all know I’m a big fan of those. A BIG fan. And Ariel has pretty red hair.
101 Dalmatians: This movie is full of one of the things I love: cute, little spotted, playful, humorous puppies! Some of the lines in this one just crack me up (“I’m hungry, Momma. I really am!”). And Cruella Deville is an ultimate villain if ever there was one (“She’s like a spi-der waiting for the…KILL!” as the song says. *shudders*). And a Dalmatian plantation sounds delightful, no?
Bambi: *sigh*. This is such a heart-warming one (except for the part where his mom dies. I hate that part.) I love Thumper and Flower. And I love their quotes (“He can call me a flower, if he wants to…” and “ They call me THUMPER!”). I like the songs in this one too, even though they didn’t end up being as well known as some of the rest of Disney songs have. Little April Showers is very pleasant and makes me want to sit and watch it rain. Imagine that.
Beauty and the Beast: A classic ‘beauty is not only skin deep’ story. She falls in love with the Beast, only to find he was the prince she’d always imagined. Lumier and Cogsworth are fantastic. And Chip, love him, too. Belle’s yellow dress is pretty, and the Beast and she are so funny together when they are falling in love. And the “Beauty and the Beast” song is wonderful.
Lady and the Tramp: Nothing I like better than a love story—especially one with animals in it! I didn’t have this movie until I was a little older, but it never failed to fascinate me. I love animals. (Ok, that was a “duh” moment, yes. Like you didn’t already know that. Sorry.) Tramp showed Lady that you can live a little outside following the rules sometimes and it makes life that much more interesting. Even if it did get her caught by the dogcatcher once…but that’s beside the point. Belle Notte. Does it get any sweeter? With the spaghetti scene? Say it with me now, “Aww”. That’s just the only word for it. Bonus! The puppies at the end are adorable!
So how ‘bout it? Do you still like Disney? What are your favorites?
